Solo performance with the Texas A&M University-Commerce Wind Ensemble

I am honored to perform Goldstein’s Colloquy for solo trombone with the Texas A&M University-Commerce Wind Ensemble. This is a dynamic and exciting piece with influences of jazz featured prominently in the 3rd movement, and has been performed worldwide in both orchestral and symphonic band versions by both jazz and symphonic players.

William Goldstein's Colloquy for Trombone and Symphonic Band was commissioned by The United States Army Band and premièred before 12,000 people at an outdoor concert in Washington D.C. at the Watergate the summer of 1967. The New York première took place that winter at Carnegie Hall. This work was composed in 1967, when Goldstein was composer-in-residence for the United States Army Band.
